NOTICE TO MONTGOMERY COUNTY VETERANS

MONTGOMERY COUNTY RECORDER OF DEEDS

  THE MONTGOMERY COUNTY RECORDER OF DEEDS ("ROD") IS THE CUSTODIAN OF ALL MILITARY DISCHARGES. MONTGOMERY COUNTY RECORDS DATE BACK TO 1784 FOR THE VETERANS WHO HAD THEIR DISCHARGE (DD 214) RECORDED IN THE COUNTY.

  VETERANS WHO RESIDED IN ANOTHER COUNTY I STATE WHEN THEY WERE DISCHARGED MAY HAVE HAD THEIR DD 214 RECORDED IN THAT COUNTY I STATE. RECORDING THE DD 214 IN THE COUNTY WHERE THE VETERAN CURRENTLY RESIDES IS RECOMMENDED. 

  VETERANS MAY COME INTO OUR OFFICE AT ONE MONTGOMERY  PLAZA, SUITE 303,425 SWEDE STREET, NORRISTOWN,  PA 19404 TO HAVE THEIR DD 214 RECORDED  MONDAY-FRIDAY  8:30---4:15. THERE IS NO CHARGE TO HAVE THE DD 214 RECORDED AND THE RECORDER OF DEEDS

 OFFICE WILL PROVIDE FOUR (4) CERTIFIED COPIES FREE OF CHARGE.   THE ROD OFFICE APPRECIATES WHAT  OUR  VETERANS  HAVE  DONE  TO  KEEP   OUR  COUNTRY  SAFE  AND  IS HONORED TO PROVIDE THIS SERVICE.

  VETERANS MAY ALSO OBTAIN A COPY OF THEIR DD 214 FROM THE NATIONAL ARCHIVES AT EITHER: 

 vetrecs.archives.gov or http://www.archives.gov/veterans/evetrecs/index.html. 

 

FYI: Both Lowes and Home Depot offer Veterans a 10% discount.

Upper Frederick Township Historical Society

   Join us every fourth Monday of each month at 7pm at the Township Building to preserve the history, lore, and historical heritage of Upper Frederick Township.

You do not need to be a resident of Upper Frederick Township to join.
